Daycare

We know that a pet sitter or dog walker is just an app away. And we understand the natural inclination that your pet is “better off at home” when you’re away. However, when you depend on a sitter, is your pet getting mental, physical, and emotional stimulation while they wait for their daily walk? How much can you trust your app to provide the best care while you’re away? Is your pet’s doctor nearby if your pet becomes ill?

At Aqueduct Dog Daycare, we allow dogs to have off-leash play several times daily while allowing breaks in between. Your dog will be pampered and loved while given the opportunity to hang out and play with other dogs. We group our dogs by play style and by size. Most groups are around 5-15 dogs, and our staff to outdoor dog ratio will not exceed 15 dogs per team member.

The staff member is there to help guide the dogs in appropriate and constructive play. They will often throw toys for them to fetch, chase, play on and around our play structures and stand in as the “pack leader” with the dogs. Our staff is trained to recognize dog body language and help refocus dogs’ attention when their behavior becomes inappropriate. We utilize different methods to do that by using voice commands, body language, and “herding” dogs to different areas.

We separate dogs that appear to have clashing personalities as soon as we identify them. We evaluate all dogs on their first day of daycare and allow them in the group if we feel comfortable with their reactions.

Before admitting your dog to daycare, we require that you complete the permission form here: Daycare Consent Form, which has more information about our rules and requirements.

Please understand that not every dog benefits from off-leash group play. Some dogs don’t get along well with others. If your dog doesn’t get along well with others, we may not accept your dog into doggy daycare. It is not a statement about your ability as a pet owner; some dogs do not enjoy daycare.

Daycare can be purchased by the day, in packages of 10 or 20. Your package expires three months after the purchase date. Our 10-day package includes one free day. Our 20-day package includes three free days.

Your dog’s first day of daycare is an evaluation day, where we will see if your dog will benefit from off-leash play. If your dog is interested in playing with the other dogs, we will group him/her with other dogs who are of similar size and play type. At the end of the day, we will let you know if your dog is a good fit for our daycare.

If you have any questions about our daycare, please don’t hesitate to call us at 518-346-3467.
