Dr. Michael Allen began caring for animals growing up on his grandfather's dairy farm in Gansevoort, NY.

After graduating from Cornell University with a B.S. in Animal Science, Dr. Allen moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to further his education. It was there he attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a M.S. in nutrition and a doctorate in veterinary medicine.

Upon graduation in 1990 he started mixed-animal practice (cows, horses, dogs and cats) in Adams, NY and in 1993 moved to a mixed-animal practice in Cambridge, NY.  In 2003 he continued his career in veterinary clinical medicine at a small animal practice (cats and dogs) in East Greenbush.

Dr. Michael Allen joined the team at Aqueduct Animal Hospital in September 2011. He enjoys both medicine and surgery with an emphasis on client education and strengthening the human animal bond.  His non-veterinary interests include fishing, woodworking and wardrobe selection for his Chihuahua mix "Rosie."
