FIV/FeLV Test |
We require that all Feline patients have proof of a FIV/FeLV test. This test is mandatory for patients who will be undergoing surgery and do not have proof of ever having had this test done. This consists of a simple blood test that will detect the presence of the Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FeLV/FIV). The Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) causes a condition in cats that is similar to the one in humans caused by the AIDS virus. FIV is not infectious to people, but it can be spread from cat to cat. |
